Renewal by Andersen affiliate in Richmond, Va. spends weekend helping neighbors in need
Employees of the Renewal by Andersen affiliate in Richmond, Va., spent part of their recent weekend helping neighbors in need.
Twenty-seven Renewal by Andersen of Central VA employees volunteered with Rebuilding Together Richmond for National Rebuilding Day on April 27. They installed new windows, gutters and insulation, cleared hazardous basement and yard clutter, and upgraded railings and doors to code compliancy at a home in greater Richmond.
Alain Monyette, digital marketer at Renewal by Andersen Central VA, said his team’s volunteer efforts help affected residents to stay in their home and in their communities.
“It allows for people in these communities to stay together, it allows for people in these communities who’ve been here, helped build (the community), helped create what is Richmond now, to still stay in their homes but be in a place that’s safe, be in a place that’s warm, be in a place that’s healthy,” Alain said.
The Renewal Central VA team will be replacing window units at other properties in the same neighborhood throughout the year for other homeowners in need, he said.
