Esler Group of Renewal by Andersen locations earn Community Leadership Award

Most anyone will tell you how important culture is to Renewal by Andersen employees. After all, the strength of Renewal is its people: from the top to the bottom, they have a passion for the business, care deeply for the company and their fellow employees, and are empowered to make a difference—not just at work, but in their communities, as well.

And it isn’t just a single cause or a one-time donation here or there—RbA locations are truly adopting and investing in their communities, all year long, all across the country, and it is something the organization is very proud of.

Every year, at the Renewal by Andersen Retailer Summit Awards Night, the company names one location or group that embodies that spirit of making a difference. This year’s award went to the Esler Group (RbA Greater Philly, RbA Colorado, RbA Southern New England, and RbA Phoenix).

The Esler organization has used their Window of Giving program to help more than 100 nonprofits, including foundations like Wounded Warrior and the American Cancer Society.

The Window of Giving program provides financial support for a range of organizations (which are selected by Esler organization employees), but perhaps even more impressive is that the group’s people are also personally involved, donating hundreds of volunteer hours each year to groups that are doing important work in their communities.

This is where they truly shine—in their commitment to causes that directly affect their team members and their immediate community. From the Worcester Youth Center to the Walk for the Puppies; from Rollin’ Dreams to the Philabundance Food Drive…they are there to “turn love into action” and support their teammates in meaningful ways.

One such example is the Infinite Bond Foundation. When Phoenix employee Ana Costillo’s two young nieces were murdered in an act of domestic violence, she and her sister (the girls’ mother) wanted to make sure the girls’ short lives would not be in vain. Through the help and support of Window of Giving, they were able to honor Ariah and Audrey’s memory and provide moments of joy and normalcy for other children living in the shadow of domestic violence.

Says Window of Giving program coordinator Betty Shea, “We start by listening to our teammates, our customers, our communities. It’s about creating opportunities that everyone can get onboard with. … The end result beyond the giving is turning love into action, creating movement within our company to give back.”

Concludes Matt Esler, COO for the locations: “The ultimate goal is to one day be as well known for how we participated in, and how we supported our communities and our teammates, as we are known for what we do.”
